Important Request from Santuary

August is approaching, and the temperature in Memphis is rising.  The “dog days of summer” are starting to feel like a grind.  This is when it is so important to look toward the future and the hope of relief.  Everything in life follows rhythms.  We have highs and lows.  The temperatures outside rise and fall and likewise, our emotional or physical health has highs and lows.  And, just like everything else, Sanctuary has seasons of highs and lows.  Late August through September has been our busiest time every year for the last 6 years.  With the increased schedule pressure, schools starting back, and programs beginning, our new appointment requests have risen by as much as 50 % from the previous couple of months.  Symptoms of anxiety and depression increase and people (especially people working in ministry in Memphis) look for relief from the pressure and we at Sanctuary are blessed to be able to help meet that need.

But Sanctuary also feels pressure during these more intense months.  While the need for our services increases, our financial support typically decreases which can limit our capacity to provide care and counseling to the men and women working to make our city a better, happier, safer place to live. As our opportunity to serve increases, so does our need for financial help.  And so, I would like to ask you to consider partnering with us this summer.  The average cost for a counseling appointment in Memphis is about $140.  We are asking that you help us reach our goal of 14 new monthly donors for the month of August.  14 new donors averaging $140 each in monthly donations will significantly help Sanctuary meet the growing need for affordable mental health care for the ministry workers we serve.

Please pray about partnering with us as an individual or an organization so that we can continue to “Minister to those in Ministry”.
