Murray Garrot

Murray has over twenty years of experience in full-time pastoral ministry. He was the Associate Pastor at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham, NC from 1996-2009 and the Executive Pastor at Independent Presbyterian Church in Memphis from 2009-2016. While serving as a pastor, Murray began to recognize the need for more counseling services focused on the unique challenges that face ministry workers. In July of 2016, Murray and Liz moved to Orlando to attend the Masters of Arts degree in Counseling program at Reformed Theological Seminary. Murray hopes his years as a pastor, now combined with his recent training in counseling, will enable him to connect with and serve those who have been called into ministry. Murray completed his internship at the Oviedo Counseling Clinic, working mostly with anxiety/depression, ministry burnout, and marriage.

Education: Murray earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from Vanderbilt University (1989), his Masters of Divinity degree from Reformed Theological Seminary (1994), his PhD in Ecclesiastical History from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland (2003), and his Masters of Arts degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (2018). Murray is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.

Clients describe Murray as kind, trustworthy, insightful, and empathetic. In Murray's spare time you can find him playing tennis or hunting.
